Pray with Us

Being present to our world
through the eyes of faith

At Catholic Charities, we are called to love and to serve, as an expression of our love for the triune God. We are called to be present to the needs of our neighbors, our region, and our world through the eyes of faith. Each day, we turn to God, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit — in reverence and humility — to ask for His love, guidance, and providence, so that our work may bear His fruit, fruit that lasts.

For as the Bible teaches us:

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:37-39)
  • For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. (Matthew 25:35-36)
  • . . . truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. (Matthew 25:40)
  • I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
  • You did not choose me, but I chose you . . . so that you might go and bear fruit — fruit that will last . . . (John 15:16)

Lifting up our work in worship

We invite all to worship with us, as we welcome and serve all who come to us in need, materially or spiritually.

  • Join us for Mass at 12 p.m. (noon) on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the chapel at 721 N. La Salle St., Chicago.
  • Join for our next Mass and Mission service at a community parish. See this year’s schedule here.

Lifting up our prayers

Prayer is essential to our lives and work.

In humility, we ask our partners and friends to pray for us, for our work, for the needs of our Chicagoland community, and, most particularly, that our works may always be vitalized by and anchored in God.

We welcome you into communion with us, to share your prayer intentions with us. They will be written in our book of intentions, both online and in our prayer book in the St. Louise de Marillac Chapel, and prayed for in our worship.

If you know of someone who is sick, has died, or for any reason needs our prayers for well-being, please share your prayer requests here.

We welcome the opportunity to
pray for you in our community.

Prayer requests will be written into our Book of Prayers in the St. Louise de Marillac Chapel at the main offices at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. At your request, a specific prayer and/or Mass intention will be honored at our weekly Mass on Wednesdays at 12 p.m.

Please share your requests here.
