We welcome your
partnership in giving!
We can only serve through the generosity of our private donors — the many people, families, foundations, and corporations who make our mission possible. In FY25, 10,000 private partners donated to us.
Our mission relies on raising $30 million to $40 million in private funding every year. While we are a non-profit organization overseen by the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Blase Cupich, we operate in parallel and separately from the corporate and financial structure of the Archdiocese. We do not receive any ongoing financial support from the Archdiocese.
100% of every dollar you give goes to supporting our mission and charitable works. We are not asked nor expected to share any of our funding with the Archdiocese. Our funding goes fully to our mission.
Our Giving Societies
We are grateful every day for our Partners in Giving and Mission, including members of our Mercy, Cornerstone, and Saint Katharine Drexel Societies, whose generosity enables us to deepen and transform our work.

Ways to Give
We are proud to carry a Platinum GuideStar rating — spending only 2% of our operating budget on fundraising and only 9% on administration. We are audited annually by Deloitte.
Asset-Based Giving
If you are making a gift to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago through a donor advised fund, visit our online partner DAF Direct to coordinate the process.
Please note: Per IRS Regulations, we cannot accept payments from a donor advised fund that provides a benefit to an individual, including, but not limited to the following:
- Provides a donor or a related person with more than an incidental benefit (i.e., tickets to attend an event, memberships that have more than incidental benefits)
- Purchases at an auction
Please contact our Donor Relations team at (312) 948-6797 or donor.relations@catholiccharities.net with any questions.
Mutual funds that you hold in an account at the fund company cannot be transferred electronically via DTC. Please obtain a transfer form from the fund company, complete your portion, and mail to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Office of Institutional Advancement, 721 N. LaSalle, Chicago, IL 60654 or email to donor.relations@catholiccharities.net. Our staff will complete the appropriate portions of the form and work with the fund company to accept the shares.
Donating appreciated securities, held for more than one year, instead of cash avoids capital gains taxes regardless of whether or not you itemize. To preserve the tax advantages of donating stock, you must transfer the shares directly to us.
